pink mesh

Happy Sunday! I've been really quiet here lately - Obviously at times we all get periods of feeling demotivated & personally I often get anxious, but I've learned to listen to my body and go with it when it happens rather than get disappointed with myself. I'm so happy to finally feel motivated again, today I'm planning new content ideas to keep me busy this month and next.

If there's one thing that really bothers me, it's feeling stuck in the same place for too long. A real passion of mine is traveling and getting the chance to see as many new places as possible, each experience always leaves me feeling so invigorated and inspired. I stupidly hadn't planned any trips away this summer and I was going pretty stir crazy, but last week I booked a trip to Barcelona in August with my best friends - it seriously can't come quick enough! This city has been on my list to visit for so long and I know it's going to be an amazing holiday.

Today I'm sharing another outfit post shot by the amazingly talented Brid O'Donovan. She has such a great eye for location scouting and knew exactly what I was going for, shooting with her is always so easy and enjoyable! There's quite a bit going on in this outfit for me, but since I'm really loving both mesh and pink right now, naturally I couldn't resist this super cute bodysuit. You may notice the belt looks very much like a copy of another popular designer belt... until I can afford the actual Gucci one this Penneys version will have to do haha!

I'm still finding the balance between my 98% black wardrobe and mixing in more bright, colourful pieces. I desperately do want to get out of my usual ways and wear more colour this summer, so I'm trying hard! In saying all of that, I may have also picked up this bodysuit in black.... just to be safe.

I'm not sure if I've said this in a blog post before but I'm a huge photography fan and absolutely love getting behind the lens too. One aspect I have always loved is film photography and I'm going to introduce a 35mm film photography series onto the blog in the next couple of weeks. While a lot of it will be fashion based, I'll also be sharing photos I take on the go, compiling my favourite shots of each month together. I'm starting this project mostly to get myself back into taking photographs and having a creative outlet to go to every day, even if they're quick snapshot photographs. The quality of a film photograph just can't be matched by my phone or digital in my opinion!

July //

Happy Saturday and happy July 1st! It's so nice to finally see the sun and feel its warmth after an unseasonably cold but very typically Irish rainy week. June was a bit of a mad month but I'm finally back with some new posts for the blog, starting off with this outfit post shot a couple of weeks ago by the amazing Bríd O Donovan! My June highlight has to be seeing one of my all time favourite bands Paramore in the Olympia, which also happens to be my favourite venue in Dublin too. While on the topic, if you haven't checked out their cover of Passionfruit yet, get on it!
Looking back at these photos I kinda can't believe how much colour I'm seeing for someone who's most comfortable wearing all black! In the middle of a serious wardrobe clear-out for summer (better late than never) so my floor is a pretty overwhelming sea of black clothing right now that I don't want to deal with...
I always struggle with dressing for warmer weather as its such a (very welcomed) rarity in Ireland!

As all Irish summers tend to go, one minute you're roasting and the next you're running for cover from the rain! As someone who usually feels the cold, this is pretty much my idea of a typical day-to-day summer outfit - simple, comfortable and with a jacket just incase!

Video Shoot // Dublin

Happy extra sunny Sunday! Somewhere between lying out in my garden soaking up the sun and trying to get ready for the week ahead, I realised that I totally forgot to share this video I shot with Keith Driscoll weeks ago! I posted the video on my Instagram already but in case you missed that you can check it out above. We had a great time wandering around Dublin shooting this and I'm delighted with how it turned out!

Test Shoot // Catch-up

Happy Sunday! I've been so quiet here over the last few months and have no valid excuse really except for a frustratingly bad creative block/post NYC blues that I feel is slowly but surely coming to an end now (...by planning more trips). I have a few new idea's for how I want to go forward with the website that I'm really looking forward to sharing so please bare with me while I get that done over the next couple of months. May is my birthday month so I always find myself frantically trying to get as much ticked off my goals list before I age another year haha!

Since it's a bank holiday weekend, I had some extra time to go through recent work and edit some of my favourites. Today I'm sharing a very simple outfit from a test shoot with Kelsey a couple of weeks ago. It was a pretty spontaneous & quick, shot after work while location scouting in a carpark that has very quickly become one of our fave locations to shoot in and a place we always find ourselves coming back to for a lot of projects! The weather has been crazy in Ireland the last couple of weeks, going from warm to actual hailstones in a matter of minutes?! So it's pretty hard to dress weather appropriate. I recently picked up this coat in Bershka and so far it's been perfect for this guessing game weather!

I'm slowly but surely stepping out of my all-black outfit comfort zone and introducing more colour and pattern for summer, so that's all on the way to the blog very soon!

Sun & Shadow

Happy Monday, hope you all had a great weekend! I always try to see Mondays in a positive way, as a fresh start to get as much accomplished as possible during the week. Every Monday morning I write down a list of big and small goals & tasks to work on each day. I've done this for years now and I find having it all written down somewhere really helps structure my week and focus my mind. I was at the Dublin Tech Summit last week and as you can imagine, there was so much information to take in that it was a little intense at times, but an incredibly interesting and educational couple of days! I got to see Gary Vaynerchuk give a really motivating (and bluntly honest as always) keynote talk which was a highlight for me as I've been following his career for awhile now and watch his vlogs every day. I definitely took a lot of tips and different ways of thinking away from the summit that I'll be applying to my own work.

Today I'm sharing one of my favourite outfit posts so far, shot on such a beautiful day in NYC last month! Looking back on all my photos from New York fills me with such happiness, I still can't believe I got to work with such amazing creative people and do what I love in my all time favourite city. It felt a little surreal at the time, standing in the middle of the road at a red light in front of numerous yellow taxis, taking photos with an insane view of NYC streets as the backdrop. These photographs are sort of becoming a reminder to me that anything is possible if you work hard and take a chance by reaching out to other people! It's definitely so daunting at the time sending an email or contacting someone you don't know but this year I've stopped dwelling on that point as much and just decided to go for it, you never know what could happen if you don't at least try after all! I've pretty much decided that a trip back over in the summer needs to happen....

 Have a great week!

Polka Dots & Pink

 Happy Saturday!
I'm sharing another outfit post from NYC today, shot on an incredibly sunny day in the city! Now that I've been home for a couple weeks I'm already back in New York daydream mode, trying to plan when I can get back over again this year (ASAP, basically). I've been in a pretty bad creative slump this week which is so frustrating, but I find that sometimes trying to push it when you already feel like this is even worse! My weekend plans are to chill out and try recharge myself for a hopefully busy & creative week ahead. I'm going to start working on a short NY travel video so that I stay sort of productive this weekend, should hopefully have that up soon! I'm heading to the Dublin Tech Summit next week which I'm super excited about, that should help on the inspiration side of things at least.
Wishing you all a great weekend!

Madison Ave

I'm only back from New York a couple of days and already I'm missing the city so much! I don't know exactly what it is about New York, but it's my favourite place to be and somewhere that feels like pretty much anything is possible. The atmosphere in the city is so electric and fast-paced that I'm constantly inspired there! I was so lucky to get to work with a lot of talented photographers while in the city and I can't wait to share the photographs. I'm sharing one of my first outfit shoots of the trip today, shot on 72nd St & Madison Avenue in the Upper East Side. Hope you like it!

We got so lucky with the weather on this day. The previous day was an absolute wash out so to see sun that morning was amazing, felt like such a perfect spring day! One of my goals this year was to shoot for the blog in New York and achieving that was just as surreal and exciting as I had imagined.

Satin & Embroidery

Happy Saturday! At the moment I'm really quickly trying to pack for my trip to New York tomorrow (last minute as always) and sorting out what outfits to shoot over there. I'm so beyond excited to go back and visit my favourite city, it's been far too long!
Before I go, I wanted to share a quick outfit post from a couple weeks ago. Slowly but surely trying to get out of my all-black wardrobe comfort zone (at least every once in awhile), hope you like it!
